In the early morning hours of July 30, 1998, Mary Catron contacted the Randolph County, Arkansas Sherif's department. She was concerned she said, because her daughter, Lisa Elliot's stepmother had heard a 'domestic disturbance' coming through an intercom that linked the two homes. A deputy was dispatched, but found nothing out of place. It wasn't until dawn broke that the reality of the situation was known. Someone had gone into the Elliot's home, beaten 8-year-old Gregory to death, before assaulting his mother, Lisa, who's body was found hundreds of yards from the house, her throat severed. Police called it one of the most gruesome crime scenes they had ever encountered, the type that gave many of them nightmares for years to come, but the horror had only just begun.
